Stop! What’s That Smell?

Smelly Pipes

This time of year we get many phone calls about “smelly pipes”. Try pouring a gallon of water down each pipe with 1 part vinegar and 3 parts water. This will fill the trap and help prevent odors from entering the house. Slow drains should be snaked to ensure they will carry away water (and bacteria) quickly. If you are in an older home, it is best to avoid pouring down harsh chemicals. Older pipes naturally corrode over time and the chemicals can speed up the process or even cause more damage. If you are still having an issue, let us know! We are just a skip, hop and a jump away!
